Technically speaking his spider-sense not only allows him to sense danger but to automatically react to it(kinda like how when you touch something hot you automatically retract your hand as oppose to "hmm..this is hot, I probably should remove my hand off of it unless I want to injure myself). Spiderman should have jump off the moment Hulk leap in the air.
